I just massively upgraded my "homelab" and finally updated my 14 year old web server to work on the new server infrastrucure.
The Intangir network and all of the sites (including whatever site you're reading this on) are now ported over to the new upgraded server. Much of the hardware and software under the hood should be faster, hopefully more secure, and more upto date.
It was quite a pain to get this rather old forum software stack working with newer versions of so many software packages, some I couldn't even upgrade because of backwards compatibility issues but for the most part I have dragged this antiquated forum into the current decade. There are still a couple things not working (but they were already broken anyway), letting the server email out doesn't work yet, so new registrations are disabled.
Forums/bbs systems aren't as popular anymore these days but part of me still just wanted to keep it going anyway, you never know it may still be useful on future projects, games or communities

Was just thinking about how long I've been hosting these websites..
The deliquentminds site that is still hosted as part of my network is over 25 years old now...
the current network linked implementation of the site is 15 years old and has had numerous sites and projects and interested and servers hosted on it, some are still preserved in some form, many are gone though (maybe on way back machine)
it's been a journey.. nothing very interesting happening on here lately but who knows what the future holds. I think i'll just keep hosting it

Hello all, I recently went through my screenshots folder to pick out some highlights from the golden days of the server and uploaded them to the album below. I hope you enjoy looking through these memories and if you saved any screenshots of your own I'd love for you to share them. Even if you haven't saved any screenshots, I'd enjoy reading any memories from the server you have to share. This community may have just existed on a Minecraft server, but everyone you met was a real person with a full life behind the screen and those of us that stuck around for so long certainly built real friendships while playing a silly block game together Hope you all are staying safe and doing well - vbelac AKA Jerry https://imgur.com/a/5gEHHMfP.S you should be able to find your own screenshot folder at C:\Users\yournamehere\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\screenshots

hey bud.. ya im not really maintaining it that much.. the server has some faulty hardware, i think its bad ram.. for like a year now.. but its 32 gigs in like maybe 4 sticks and i can't remember but they might be dimms? so in order to fix it id have to probably replace 16 gigs.. on an old board.. so .. i haven't done it..
instead im letting the software play russian roulette with bad ram and things randomly crash and break sometimes without me noticing for months...
thats why only the survey server is up at the moment, the others kept crashing, i know i have some good backups, but unless i fix the ram problem they will just keep crashing
no idea what im going to do with it long term.. so im just letting it limp along until i determine a better use for it

oh, so that's why the site never worked. I think it's been that way since the spring at least yeah I noticed the server's up, it's neat to go on and look around at stuff every once in a while I appreciate that you're still maintaining stuff hope you and everyone else is doing well, as well

Apparently one of the forum DBs got so damn large it crashed the table and broke alot of things..
i don't know how long its been broken but no one has apparently posted for a LOONG time.. maybe it was because it was broken, i rolled back to an VERY old backup, since no one had posted anyway. it didn't even fix it!
so i had to manually recreate the table empty, everything else seems ok now
any password changes or new users will have been lost
the webserver seems to be fully functional again, minecraft server is also still up on 1.14.2, but everythings been preeeetty quiet.. i haven't been playing or working on it myself either
hope everyone is doing alright

i use the old launcher cause its the only one that works on my ancient linux install, but it broke with 1.14.4 and 1.15+, it crashes when you launch but i found an update for the old launcher: https://launcher.mojang.com/v1/objects/eabbff5ff8e21250e33670924a0c5e38f47c840b/launcher.jaryou need to actually launch this actual jar, not any minecraft jars that will auto 'upgrade' to the old version breaking it again i put it in my ~/.minecraft dir and use: java -jar launcher.jar no support for it on the server yet but if you wanted to play the new versions like i did then this might help
